ASPR Budget & Financing

The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) serves as the principal advisor to the HHS Secretary on issues related to public health and medical emergency preparedness and response. ASPR has operational responsibilities for the advanced research, development and stockpiling of medical countermeasures as well as the coordination of the federal public health and medical response to emergencies and disasters.

Healthcare Readiness Program Funding

ASPR awards cooperative agreements to states, territories, freely associated states, eligible municipalities, and other recipients across the health care sector. The NHPP branch awards funding in support of the Hospital Preparedness Program, the National Special Pathogen System, and the Regional Disaster Health Response System.
