The Elizabeth Fitch Recognition
Diana "Dee" Myrvang
Every once in a while, a leader just brings the MRC to a new level and exudes joy! They find a way to weave their way into the community discovering its true, and perhaps unknown, needs and uncovering ways to address them fully. This type of person is unique and has an energy that draws people to them to gain deeper understanding and a desire to engage. Dee is that person in Southwest Vermont, the State of Vermont and the MRC Program. She not only says "yes" but actively garners ideas, solutions, partners, and inquisitiveness to her daily tasks. Here are some examples:
The communities in Southwest Vermont have benefitted from Dee's leadership through Pediatric Pop-up Oral Health Clinics and Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinics. New to 2025 is the GOAT (Geriatric Outreach Assessment Team) Program for senior preparedness!
Dee assisted the State of Vermont with the Be Bright at Night Campaign, a statewide MRC initiative funded in part with STTRONG award monies to address the reduction in pedestrian injuries and deaths.
Dee delves in whole-heartedly at the MRC Program level, most recently saying yes to being on the MRC National Meeting planning team. She has provided vision and insight into programming that will enhance the experience of all participants.
Dee is amazing. In knowing her, you come away with a sense of confidence and commitment that benefits the human cause. She truly cares and puts that caring into action. As a friend and colleague of Elizabeth Fitch, I can say with confidence and authority that Dee exudes her essence with outstanding passion and the spirit of volunteerism.
